TL;DR
Senior Quantitative Scientist, Implementation (Healthcare Analytics): Building and implementing scalable analytic workflows and retrospective studies using complex healthcare and EHR data with an accent on real-world evidence, statistical analysis, and reproducible research. Focus on developing algorithms, optimizing cloud-based analytic infrastructure, and translating clinical questions into actionable insights for life sciences projects.

Location: Remote within the United States, with offices in New York City, San Francisco, and Knoxville. Permanent residency in one of the approved states is required; candidates near the Bay Area or New York City office hubs are preferred, with a strong preference for hybrid work in the New York metro area. Eastern or Central time zone residence is preferred. Relocation candidates are encouraged to apply.

Salary: $141,441–$176,801 USD annually, with a possible geographic premium.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement robust, scalable analytic workflows using complex real-world healthcare data.
  • Design, code, and execute analyses supporting real-world evidence for commercial life sciences projects.
  • Establish best practices for code review, version control, reproducibility, documentation, and analytic workflows.
  • Lead retrospective studies using electronic health record data, including statistical analysis planning and algorithm development.
  • Advise on scalable processes and infrastructure while collaborating with Commercial, Product, Medical, and Engineering teams.
  • Present findings to internal and external partners and contribute to methodological standards and scientific rigor.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, doctorate, or equivalent hands-on experience in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with healthcare datasets, including EHR, outcomes, and complex or messy data.
  • Expertise in R, Python, PySpark, AWS, Databricks, and Git-based workflows.
  • Experience optimizing technical and analytic workflows and developing reproducible analyses.
  • Experience supporting life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotech organizations and analyzing observational datasets.
  • Must have permanent residency in an approved U.S. state and legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States. Visa sponsorship and OPT/STEM extension support are not available.
