Senior Software Engineer I (AI)

Location: Tucson, Arizona, United States; based at an Optical Systems site

U.S. Government security clearance eligibility and ITAR authorization are required for U.S. office candidates. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations.

What you will do

• Collaborate with researchers on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision.
• Rapidly prototype and enhance software for integration into operational systems.
• Develop software solutions for real-world electro-optical and infrared sensing problems.
• Validate, tune, test, and deploy neural networks and machine learning algorithms.
• Troubleshoot, fix bugs, and maintain existing and new code for system stability.
• Support travel or off-site work as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, astronomy, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent discipline, plus 5+ years of experience.
• Experience building deep learning neural networks for computer vision, image processing, or video analysis.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Eligibility to work on U.S. Government and ITAR-regulated technology in the United States.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in C++ or Python.
• Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience across the deep learning lifecycle, including model selection, training, validation, testing, and deployment.
• Knowledge of object detection, image segmentation, re-identification, tracking, super resolution, and 3-D machine learning.
• Experience curating real-world datasets for deep learning model training.
