Lead AI Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Remote or hybrid in Kazakhstan, with access to offices in Astana, Almaty, or Karaganda.

What you will do

• Design and build data engineering frameworks, reusable components, CI/CD templates, and engineering best practices.
• Enable Data Engineers to develop AI-ready Data Products at enterprise scale.
• Extend frameworks so AI Agents can discover and consume Data Products.
• Build AI-assisted development and operations solutions, including an AI assistant.
• Set up robust, scalable data pipelines and align technical strategy with international teams.
• Provide actionable technical direction to Data Product Engineers and promote engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and a track record of building enterprise-quality Data Products, preferably with Lakehouse architecture.
• Proficiency in Python, version control, and CI/CD frameworks such as GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Expertise in Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or equivalent technologies.
• Expertise in Agentic AI and frameworks such as LangGraph, MCP, and A2A.
• Knowledge of microservices technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong written and spoken English is required for collaboration with international teams.
