Senior Lead - Project Manager for Regional Banks project

Location: Tokyo, Japan; primarily based in the Tokyo office, with coordination and visits to customer and partner locations as needed.

What you will do

• Act as Sub-Project Manager and PMO for the next-generation TSUBASA system.
• Facilitate customer meetings, organize discussion points, and manage issues and progress.
• Coordinate stakeholders across the customer, IBM, hirify.global, and partner companies and build consensus.
• Clarify system, testing, and migration requirements and translate ambiguous requests into actionable plans.
• Support test planning, migration planning, and preparations for service launch.
• Contribute to a shared regional banking project from requirements definition through migration.

Requirements

• Experience in customer negotiations and organizing key discussion points through stakeholder dialogue.
• Project management experience as a PMO or Project Leader.
• Practical experience in requirements clarification, meeting facilitation, issue management, and progress management.
• Strong coordination skills across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to proactively engage stakeholders, drive projects forward, and quickly acquire the technical knowledge required for the project.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial-sector projects, regional banking initiatives, or bank system modernization.
• Experience in system modernization, migration projects, or test planning.
• PMO experience in large-scale or multi-vendor projects.
• Customer-facing Project Manager experience from requirements definition through migration.
• Flexibility to travel to customer and partner locations as needed.
