TL;DR
Senior Tax Accountant (Domestic Tax Compliance): Supporting federal and state income tax compliance, quarterly and year-end tax provisions, financial statement reporting, audits, and tax-related projects with an accent on ASC 740, FIN 48, R&D tax credits, and M&A integration. Focus on preparing consolidated tax returns, improving tax processes through automation, and managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the office

What you will do
- Prepare quarter-end and year-end income tax provisions and support financial statement tax reporting.
- Prepare consolidated federal and separate or combined state income and franchise tax returns for US businesses, including estimated payments and extensions.
- Coordinate with external service providers on federal and state R&D tax credits.
- Support domestic income tax audits and respond to tax authority requests.
- Support M&A activity, including tax-related integration work, and contribute to tax planning initiatives.
- Recommend tax-efficiency improvements using technology and automation.
Requirements
- 2+ years of applicable tax or accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or active pursuit of a CPA.
- Strong accounting, analytical, tax technical, Excel, time-management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with income tax provisions or financial statement tax reporting, including ASC 740 and/or FIN 48.
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax/Tax Compliance or Oracle TRCS.
- Interest in automation, AI, or other process-efficiency tools.
