TL;DR
Jr. Mechanical Engineer (Oil & Gas): Supporting mechanical design and project execution for industrial, petrochemical, and oil and gas projects with an accent on equipment specifications, engineering deliverables, and interdisciplinary coordination. Focus on reviewing drawings and vendor documents, preparing calculations and technical evaluations, and providing support during procurement, construction, inspection, and commissioning.

Location: Onsite in Bahrain, at the BTME Bahrain office in Manama

What you will do

  • Support Lead and Senior Mechanical Engineers on mechanical design and project execution activities.
  • Prepare and review mechanical drawings, calculations, specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Support the selection and specification of pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical documents, equipment data, and technical queries during procurement.
  • Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines.
  • Provide technical support during design reviews, site visits, construction, inspection, commissioning, and punch-list activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, industrial, or engineering consultancy projects.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, mechanical equipment, and piping interfaces.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards including ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Good English communication and technical report-writing skills are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with FEED, detailed engineering, or EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Familiarity with engineering software.
  • Bahrain or GCC project experience.
