TL;DR
Principal Data Strategist (Data and AI) (Data Strategy, Governance, AI/ML): Creating enterprise data and technology strategies, governance frameworks, and end-to-end data solutions for clients with an accent on data architecture, AI and ML ecosystems, and business alignment. Focus on leading complex consulting engagements, influencing C-level stakeholders, shaping multimillion-euro pursuits, and building data strategy capabilities through technical leadership and thought leadership.
Location: Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, or Stuttgart, Germany. The role requires regular travel to client sites for up to approximately 50% of the time.

What you will do
- Co-create data and technology strategies aligned with client business goals and enterprise-wide data-driven visions.
- Advise on complex data programs and provide technical leadership as a data subject-matter expert.
- Lead client engagements, collaborate with sales, and shape viable solutions and winning proposals.
- Design end-to-end data solutions and oversee program inceptions for new product development.
- Formulate data governance strategies covering security, privacy, compliance, data lineage, quality, and classification.
- Build data strategy and governance capabilities through mentoring, reusable assets, ecosystem initiatives, and thought leadership.
Requirements
- Extensive consulting experience creating data strategies and solutions that deliver business value.
- Strong experience with data platforms, technologies, data governance, and enterprise data strategy operationalization.
- Experience with AI and ML use cases, data-as-a-product, and federated governance approaches.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, complete complex projects, and influence C-level stakeholders.
- Recent consultancy or professional-services experience driving data and AI engagements, including pursuits of approximately €3M or more.
- Professional German proficiency at B2 minimum is required; C1 is strongly preferred.

- Exceptional data and AI consulting credentials that compensate for German proficiency below B2.
- Hands-on credibility in at least one relevant data or AI technology area.
