Information Security Intern (AI)

Location: Vienna, Austria; hybrid working with flexible hours. Work from anywhere is available for up to 8 weeks per year.

Salary: Minimum EUR 1,400 gross per month on a full-time basis, prorated for part-time hours.

What you will do

• Automate SecOps workflows including alert triage, log enrichment, phishing analysis, access reviews, and vulnerability tracking.
• Build AI agents that correlate signals, enrich indicators of compromise, draft incident summaries, and send Slack or email notifications.
• Specify, build, and deploy dashboards and internal tools for detections, vulnerabilities, and audit evidence.
• Integrate SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, identity providers, and ticketing systems through APIs.
• Work with IT, Engineering, and Operations to scope risks, prototype solutions, and measure outcomes.

Requirements

• Strong coding ability in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and Git.
• Understanding of networking, authentication, and common attack techniques.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and at least one workflow automation platform such as n8n, Zapier, or Make.
• Ability to demonstrate two or three end-to-end projects and explain delivery decisions.
• A degree in Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity is preferred; an equivalent technical portfolio is acceptable.

Nice to have

• Exposure to EDR or SIEM tools, detections, or threat-hunting queries.
• Experience with vulnerability management, identity and access, incident response, or SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR evidence.
• Capture-the-Flag experience, a home lab, or hands-on experimentation with security tools.
• Familiarity with MCP servers or agent frameworks.
