Salary: $147,000 – $224,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build detection and response coverage across corporate, cloud, and data center environments.
• Own detection engineering program end to end: threat modeling, detection design, deployment, tuning, and retirement.
• Develop detection-as-code pipelines with version control, testing, and peer review.
• Run threat hunts and convert findings into repeatable detections.
• Maintain SIEM and EDR pipeline health to ensure alert quality and trust.
• Lead triage and incident response, producing root-cause writeups that improve detection stack.
• Build automation to reduce manual triage and scale alert handling.

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years in detection engineering or threat hunting in mature security operations organizations.
• Deep hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR tools such as Splunk, Elastic, CrowdStrike.
• Experience writing detection logic mapped to MITRE ATT&CK and tuning detection rules.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, SQL, or similar.
• Ability to operate with minimal process and build necessary workflows independently.
• Clear writing skills for runbooks and incident reports.

Nice to have

• Experience securing physical infrastructure or OT/data center environments.
• Purple team experience.
• Contributions to open-source detection content (Sigma, detection rule repositories).
