TL;DR
Protection Coordinator (Women’s Protection and Empowerment) (GBV humanitarian programming): Leading a multi-donor, multi-year Women’s Protection and Empowerment portfolio delivering gender-based violence response, psychosocial support, prevention, and risk-reduction programs across Ukraine with an accent on technical quality, integrated programming, and partnerships. Focus on designing and adapting programs, managing grants and budgets, strengthening local organizations, and building the capacity of frontline teams.
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine; full-time office work is required, with hybrid work possible after the probation period. Regular travel to other program areas is required, up to 30% of working time.

What you will do
- Lead a complex, multi-donor, multi-year Women’s Protection and Empowerment portfolio covering GBV case management, psychosocial support, prevention, and risk reduction.
- Set program strategy and direction, coordinate implementation across sectors, and ensure alignment with IRC strategies and donor expectations.
- Provide technical quality assurance across design, planning, implementation, monitoring, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation.
- Lead proposal development, landscape analysis, stakeholder mapping, budgeting, grant management, and donor engagement.
- Build partnerships with women-led, GBV response, national, and international organizations while supporting a shift toward feminist partnerships.
- Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of WPE staff and partners through supportive supervision, training, and field visits.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in public health, social science, social work, humanities, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience, including substantial management experience in VAWG/GBV programming and at least 2 years of direct service provision for GBV survivors.
- Knowledge and practical implementation experience with GBV Minimum Standards, including response, prevention, and risk reduction.
- Experience in capacity building, mentoring, grant management, budgeting, and proposal writing.
- Experience coordinating with UN agencies, donors, INGOs, government actors, and other stakeholders; familiarity with ECHO, GFFO, BMZ, SIDA, and OCHA regulations.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Ukrainian are required.
