Site Reliability Engineer | Weekend Warrior (Fintech)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Annual base salary: €150,000–€175,000 EUR

What you will do

• Own the production environment and improve system performance, reliability, and operability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot large-scale trading systems and exchange connectivity.
• Build and maintain reliability tooling for configuration management, deployments, monitoring, data collection, and analysis.
• Use firm-wide metrics to improve scalability and system performance.
• Coordinate technology changes, deployments, and incident management with traders, Risk Management, Clearing, and operational support teams.
• Manage operational risk, document procedures, and provide mentorship and cross-training to technical operations engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, DevOps, SRE, Linux Systems Engineering, or Network Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with Python and shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, including system and network configuration, kernel internals, scheduling, and performance tuning.
• Strong networking knowledge covering routing, multicast, LLDP, VLANs, and Ethernet.
• Comfort with shared operational and periodic on-call duties, reliable availability, and weekend trading support.

• C++ experience.
