Merchant Risk Analyst & Underwriting

What you will do

• Evaluate new merchant applications and conduct comprehensive risk assessments for account approval.
• Analyze transaction data, financial statements, and related information to identify risk indicators and potential fraud.
• Monitor merchant accounts, perform ongoing due diligence and periodic reviews, and implement measures such as limit adjustments or account closures.
• Ensure compliance with payment-network rules, regulations, and internal underwriting policies.
• Provide risk insights and recommendations to sales, operations, and risk management stakeholders.
• Improve underwriting policies, workflows, documentation, and merchant risk-management processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in merchant underwriting, risk assessment, or fraud prevention.
• Strong knowledge of KYC, KYB, AML, and fraud risk-management frameworks.
• Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, payment-processing platforms, risk-management tools, and CRM systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to perform shift duties and handle additional tasks assigned by management.

Nice to have

• Experience with eCommerce payments.
