Merchant Risk and Underwriting

What you will do

• Evaluate new merchant applications and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to determine account eligibility.
• Analyze transaction data, financial statements, and other information to identify merchant risk profiles and potential red flags.
• Monitor existing merchant accounts, perform ODD and periodic reviews, and implement controls such as limit adjustments or account closures.
• Ensure compliance with payment network rules, regulations, and internal underwriting policies.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and risk management stakeholders to provide risk insights and recommendations.
• Maintain underwriting records and improve risk management policies, workflows, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in merchant underwriting, risk assessment, or fraud prevention; e-commerce payments experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of KYC, KYB, AML, and fraud risk management frameworks.
• Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, and payment compliance regulations.
• Experience with risk management tools, payment processing platforms, and CRM systems, supported by strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to perform shift duties and undertake additional tasks assigned by management.
