Senior SDET - AI Detection and Response (AIDR) (Hybrid)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid with 2–3 days per week on-site

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 base per year, with eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end validation of AI Detection and Response services across cloud backend and UI layers.
• Build and maintain reusable test frameworks, tooling, and platform libraries.
• Define testing strategies covering functional, performance, contract, chaos, and resilience testing.
• Validate processing, data, and customer-facing application layers for reliability, accuracy, and performance at scale.
• Participate in code and design reviews, improving testability, security, observability, and monitoring.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, increase automated coverage, and mentor engineers on quality practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of combined experience as an SDET or backend/UI developer.
• 3+ years building testing frameworks and tooling for a Cloud SaaS product or similar service-oriented architecture.
• Expertise in at least one of Golang, Python, or Java; Go is the primary backend language.
• Experience with distributed cloud systems, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, cloud services, CI/CD, and containerized environments.
• Experience testing REST or gRPC APIs, high-volume data systems, and frontend applications using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Strong debugging, distributed systems, communication, mentoring, and quality strategy skills.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity or AI/ML security experience.
• Experience with gRPC, Kafka or Pulsar, UI testing, accessibility validation, performance profiling, and chaos engineering.
• Experience with OCI, GCP, Azure, AI-powered testing tools, agentic tools, or open-source testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Copilot Ecosystem and Microsoft Agent Studio.
