Lead DevOps Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Own the Azure cloud and DevOps architecture roadmap, engineering standards, and reference patterns.
• Design and maintain modular Terraform infrastructure with environment separation and remote state.
• Build, improve, and operate GitLab CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment deployments.
• Manage AKS clusters and containerized workloads, including ingress configuration and potential service mesh adoption.
• Drive observability with Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics, including monitoring, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Lead and mentor the DevOps team while improving security, developer experience, documentation, reliability, and cloud cost efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of advanced DevOps, cloud, or SRE experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or architect capacity.
• Strong production Azure experience with AKS, API Management, Application Gateway, Front Door, VNet, Private Link, Key Vault, Service Bus, and Event Hub.
• Expertise in Terraform, production Kubernetes and AKS, Helm, containerized applications, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, security, and identity, including Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identities, Azure Policy, and Defender for Cloud.
• Working proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Python and practical production experience with Dynatrace or similar observability tools.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to developers, security teams, and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GitOps approaches such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• FinOps or cloud cost optimization experience.
• Azure certifications AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400, or Dynatrace certification.
