Backend Engineer, Security (PHP)

hirify.global operates a technology product engineering organization with a growing security team.

What you will do

• Implement security improvements through hands-on coding across backend services and systems.
• Review and triage security submissions, incident reports, and bug bounty findings, ensuring remediation follow-through.
• Build, operate, and improve incident response and security remediation processes.
• Review application monitoring data and logs to detect and investigate anomalies.
• Maintain security policies and documentation and communicate security requirements and risks to non-technical departments.
• Support access governance and permission-management processes.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Solid PHP knowledge.
• Security knowledge or clearly demonstrated interest through bug bounties, CTFs, security blogs, or participation in the security community.
• Background in IT, backend engineering, or a related technical field.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, solve problems, and learn across multiple systems, languages, and technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with monitoring tools and application monitoring.
• Familiarity with the OWASP Top 10.
