TL;DR
Lead Engineer (Software Architecture): Designing, building and scaling complex financial products and production systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure with an accent on technical ownership, system reliability and hands-on engineering. Focus on making architecture trade-offs, solving difficult production problems, mentoring engineers and driving initiatives from idea to production.
Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the local office

What you will do
- Lead the technical design and execution of major products, features and engineering initiatives.
- Design scalable, reliable and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
- Stay hands-on through coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem-solving.
- Make architecture and technical trade-off decisions while balancing speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
- Review technical designs and code, mentor engineers, and strengthen engineering practices and capabilities.
- Own systems after release by monitoring production, investigating incidents, resolving root causes and improving reliability.
Requirements
- Significant experience building and shipping production software systems.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas including backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
- Strong system design, architecture, coding and technical decision-making skills.
- Experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
- Ability to work directly with production systems, review code, debug complex issues and communicate technical decisions clearly.
- Strong English communication is required; candidates must be based in or able to work from Taiwan.
