Lead Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the local office

What you will do

• Lead the technical design and delivery of major products, features, and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on through coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, security, observability, and production reliability.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with engineering, product, design, and AI teams to deliver products.

Requirements

• Significant experience building and shipping production software systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas including backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design, architecture, coding, debugging, and production operations skills.
• Experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Strong product sense, communication, judgment, and ownership from problem definition through production.
• Strong English communication is required; English is the main working language.
