TL;DR
Customer Project Manager (Upstream Optimization) (AI-driven oil and gas production and reservoir optimization): Delivering Optimization as a Service projects from contract handover through field deployment, including sensor installation, data integration, model calibration, optimization cycles, and value reporting with an accent on customer delivery, production systems, and reservoir management. Focus on coordinating reservoir engineering, data science, field, and software teams, managing project risks and commercial KPIs, and validating production and recovery gains across international customer sites.
Location: Wietmarschen-Lohne, Germany; home office possible. International travel to customer sites in the EU, Middle East, and Asia Pacific is required.

What you will do
- Own customer delivery from contract handover through implementation, value validation, expansion, and renewal.
- Plan and manage mobilization, sensor and system installation, data integration, model calibration, optimization cycles, and reporting.
- Coordinate reservoir engineers, data scientists, field and instrumentation specialists, and software engineers.
- Manage project governance, including budgets, schedules, risks, issues, change control, status reporting, and steering committees.
- Track technical and commercial KPIs to demonstrate customer value and support performance-based contracts.
- Manage operator data-sharing and execution commitments, identify expansion opportunities, and provide structured customer and field feedback.
Requirements
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas, including production optimization, reservoir management, or field development.
- Experience managing complex, technical, customer-facing projects, ideally involving digital oilfield, real-time monitoring, or data-driven optimization solutions.
- Strong understanding of production systems, artificial lift, injection strategies, and reservoir management.
- Strong stakeholder management, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and reporting skills across multiple concurrent projects.
- Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally to customer sites are required.
Nice to have
- MSc, PhD, or PMP/project management certification.
- Additional language skills.
