Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native)

Location: Remote within the United States; currently not hiring in Hawaii

Salary: $166,000–$203,000 annual base salary, plus equity; no bonus

What you will do

• Build and scale patient-facing mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native.
• Own impactful features end to end, from design through release and monitoring.
• Evolve the mobile architecture and improve engineering quality through testing and performance optimization.
• Partner with Product, Design, and backend engineers to create intuitive and reliable user experiences.
• Make project tradeoffs, communicate rationale, surface risks, and contribute to clear scope and estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building production mobile applications.
• 3+ years of experience with React Native, TypeScript, and modern React development.
• Experience shipping mobile features from design through release and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of native iOS with Swift or Objective-C and Android with Kotlin or Java.
• Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration, project ownership, and ability to make and explain tradeoffs.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, including understanding their benefits, risks, and need for human judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD and automated release pipelines.
• Experience building AI-powered or LLM-enabled mobile features.
• Familiarity with mobile observability and crash reporting tools such as Datadog, Crashlytics, or Sentry.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
