TL;DR
VP of Engineering (AI/B2B SaaS): Scaling an engineering organization and AI platform serving financial advisors across the United States with an accent on engineering strategy, leadership development, organizational design, and delivery effectiveness. Focus on building scalable operating mechanisms, leading cross-functional technical initiatives, strengthening architecture, quality, security, and reliability, and partnering with the CTO and Product leadership.
Location: Budapest, XI.; on-site Monday to Thursday and remote on Fridays

What you will do
- Partner with the CTO to define and execute long-term engineering strategy, operating principles, and organizational design.
- Lead, coach, and develop Engineering Managers through feedback, performance management, and career development.
- Build a high-performing engineering organization focused on ownership, accountability, sustainable growth, and continuous improvement.
- Improve delivery predictability, execution quality, planning processes, and organizational health.
- Lead complex cross-functional technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams while creating alignment and clear ownership.
- Champion engineering excellence across architecture, quality, security, reliability, and operational maturity.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including extensive leadership of multi-layer engineering organizations.
- Experience as a Director of Engineering, VP of Engineering, Head of Engineering, or comparable second-line engineering leader.
- Demonstrated success building Engineering Managers and scaling high-performing product-led B2B SaaS organizations.
- Experience defining engineering strategy, operating models, organizational structures, and scalable processes with high ownership.
- Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, and cross-functional initiative leadership skills.
- Excellent English and Hungarian communication skills, including customer-facing or executive-level communication experience.

- Exposure to security, compliance, or enterprise software environments.
- Technical credibility in modern cloud-native software organizations.
- Interest in AI technologies and building AI-powered products.
