Backend Unit Lead

Location: Limassol, Cyprus; hybrid work format

What you will do

• Own the technical strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and alignment of the Hub unit across three teams.
• Manage team leads across UDF, UDF Storage, and DevOps/SRE, supporting development, feedback, goal setting, and career growth.
• Lead platform reliability through SLOs, SLAs, availability, latency, observability, on-call practices, and incident reviews.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including RTO/RPO targets, dual-hub scenarios, and readiness checks.
• Own capacity planning, scaling, and operations across Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Improve hiring, performance review, delivery, quality, metrics, requirements management, and cross-team coordination.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams, ideally team leads or managers across several teams.
• Strong backend engineering background with distributed systems experience.
• Experience operating high-load, low-latency services in production.
• Understanding of SRE practices, including SLOs/SLAs, observability, incident management, and on-call operations.
• Confident use of Kubernetes and cloud or container infrastructure.
• Working-level Russian and English are required for internal communication and documentation.

• Experience in finance or trading.
• Hands-on disaster recovery planning and capacity profiling experience.
• Experience consolidating or reorganizing several teams into one unit.
• Familiarity with hirify.global and the technologies used in its stack.
