Staff Data Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, United States; onsite. Applicants for U.S.-based positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead data architecture, data modeling, and integration standards for the enterprise data warehouse.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, infrastructure, and business intelligence solutions.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, accessibility, and security across data workflows.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, solutions partners, and other stakeholders to improve data quality.
• Influence code reviews and train teammates on data security, architecture, governance, and quality automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and work additional or irregular hours when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8–12 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with data architecture, enterprise data warehousing, data integration, and dimensional modeling.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Terraform.
• Experience with scalable data infrastructure, pipeline orchestration, and data security.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; employment eligibility will be verified at hire.

Nice to have

• Experience with HVR, Fivetran, DataStream, or similar CDC and replication tools feeding BigQuery in real time or near real time.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Airflow, dbt, Dataform, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Tableau, Looker, or Sisense and embedded analytics for multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Healthcare industry experience and knowledge of Google Cloud Platform data services.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding, LLM integration, or prompt engineering for data workflows.
