Salary: $55,000–$75,000 base salary per year, plus performance and tenure bonuses.

Company

Geocodio is a small, founders-led, all-remote data-as-a-service company providing geocoding, address standardization, and location-data enrichment through an API.

What you will do

  • Respond to customer questions about API integrations, address accuracy, and spreadsheet uploads through email and occasional calls.
  • Diagnose parsing, integration, and geographic-data accuracy issues, including malformed JSON, interpolation errors, and missing address data.
  • Investigate and source updated datasets, shapefiles, county data, and other information to improve database coverage and accuracy.
  • Work with engineering team members to address root causes through better parsing, data sourcing, UX improvements, or clearer documentation.
  • Update address information and follow up with customers when issues have been resolved.
  • Contribute to the company blog and occasionally prepare meetup or conference talks.

Requirements

  • Prior customer-facing experience, including technical support, helpdesk, retail, or another customer service role.
  • Familiarity with APIs and common integration issues, such as URL encoding, API keys, request formatting, and JSON errors.
  • Familiarity with geographic data and QGIS or a similar tool; knowledge of shapefiles is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently in an asynchronous environment, communicate frequently, and stay organized.
  • Must be located in the US and work Eastern hours; Eastern time is preferred and Central time is accepted.

Nice to have

  • Experience with side projects, coursework, or professional work involving APIs or geographic data.
  • Experience with QGIS and address, parcel, boundary, or other geospatial datasets.

Culture & Benefits

  • 100% remote, work-from-home role with a small, supportive, founders-led team.
  • Async collaboration through Slack and Linear, with two-week work cycles and no daily standups.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation, federal holidays, unlimited sick time, and paid parental leave.
  • Health insurance and retirement savings with company match.
  • Regular collaboration with coworkers across the US and Europe, including occasional early or late meetings.

Hiring process

  • Submit an application form with a short introduction video.
  • Interview with the hiring manager, followed by team and final interviews.
  • Reference check and criminal background check.
