Java Sustaining Engineer (Java FX)

Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan. Work format: onsite, remote, or hybrid.

What you will do

• Diagnose, debug, resolve, and deploy fixes affecting Java production stability.
• Track changes in OpenJDK and other relevant open-source projects.
• Maintain source repositories and adapt fixes from upstream projects.
• Fix bugs and backport changes across Core Libraries, AWT, Swing, and JavaFX.
• Develop and release Core Libraries and JavaFX components.
• Test and validate fixes, workarounds, and alternative solutions before release.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of Java development experience, preferably with enterprise applications.
• Experience with Core Java API and at least one of AWT, Swing, or JavaFX.
• Relevant experience as a Java Developer, QA Engineer, Sustaining Engineer, or UI Developer.
• Experience with Git or Mercurial, plus basic Linux and Bash skills.
• Intermediate English level or higher.

Nice to have

• Oracle Java SE certification.
