AI Framework Software Engineer (PyTorch)

What you will do

• Design and develop AI frameworks and software solutions optimized for different Intel products.
• Implement distributed algorithms, including compute and communication overlap and kernel fusion.
• Profile key models to identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations across hardware platforms.
• Contribute to AI framework optimizations, communication collectives, and new GPU hardware enablement.
• Contribute to open-source AI projects and follow industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–1 years of hands-on experience with AI frameworks and algorithms, including experience from internships, academic projects, coursework, or training.
• Proficiency in modern C++ and Python.
• Foundational understanding of deep learning theories and concepts.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, vLLM, and SGLang, plus the ability to debug and optimize software for performance across hardware platforms.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance optimization techniques and technologies.
• Familiarity with large language models, inference stacks, and model structures.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or collaborating within open-source ecosystems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
