Senior AI Engineer

Location: Brussels, Belgium; hybrid work with at least two office days each week

What you will do

• Ship production AI features directly into the hirify.global SaaS platform.
• Build, instrument, and evaluate AI/ML models and applications.
• Design agent loops with state management, human-in-the-loop interruptions, checkpointing, and resumption.
• Develop agent harnesses with sandboxed code execution, tool permissioning, and safe orchestration of autonomous actions.
• Build scalable stateless services for concurrent, multi-replica deployments.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, MLOps Engineers, and product teams while mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• 3+ years applying data science or machine learning in production, including LLM applications, RAG, NLP, or recommendation engines.
• Hands-on experience with agent-loop frameworks such as LangGraph and tool-calling standards such as MCP.
• Experience with agent evaluation frameworks, retrieval systems, observability, and production-scale services.
• Strong Python typing and validation skills, including Pydantic v2, plus familiarity with LangChain and related AI tooling.
• Comfort with SQL and relational databases, along with familiarity with time-series, graph, or vector databases; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
