Senior Data Scientist / Analyst

Polymarket operates a peer-to-peer prediction market where users trade on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs.

What you will do

• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers as the analytical owner for product development.
• Define feature success metrics and communicate clearly when shipped products do not achieve their goals.
• Design, instrument, and analyze A/B tests, including sample size, guardrail metrics, and stopping decisions.
• Build funnel and behavioral analyses covering market discovery, first trades, and repeat engagement.
• Identify user drop-off and friction points and translate behavioral insights into product direction.
• Own event tracking specifications, develop modeled datasets with analytics engineers, and document analyses end to end.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or a similar role supporting a consumer or trading product.
• Expert SQL skills, including working from raw event tables to defensible conclusions.
• Deep experience designing and interpreting production A/B tests, including explaining null results.
• Strong product sense, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to form and defend analytical hypotheses.
• Experience defining event tracking and instrumentation and working effectively in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex analyses and recommendations to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Background in causal inference, quasi-experimental methods, or predictive modeling with Python or R.
• Experience with trading, marketplace, or other two-sided products where user behavior drives economics.
