Research Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Boston, with San Francisco and Boston preferred; other locations in the United States are considered

What you will do

• Design and implement novel architectures for adaptive intelligence.
• Develop training methods and inference strategies for efficient AI systems.
• Translate scientific ideas from research papers into working prototypes and deployed capabilities.
• Collaborate with foundation model and systems teams to move research into production-ready systems.
• Publish technical research and contribute to reproducible model releases and architectural deep dives.

Requirements

• Work fluently with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Experience in machine learning research or production-grade ML systems.
• Demonstrated ability to move quickly from research papers to precise, functional prototypes.
• Strong interest in efficiency, scalability, and elegant system design.
• Track record of original research published at tier-1 venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, or ACL.
