Engineering Manager (AI): Leading client and internal software projects from scoping to launch while mentoring engineers and contributing hands-on across Python or TypeScript backends, LLM products, and AI systems with an accent on technical direction, architecture, delivery ownership, and stakeholder alignment. Focus on designing solutions with prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic patterns, integrating systems into enterprise infrastructure, and solving customer security and change-management challenges.
Location: Remote from Brazil
Salary: $100–$120 USD annually

What you will do
- Lead one or more client or internal projects from scoping through production launch.
- Set technical direction, architect solutions, review code, and contribute hands-on in the codebase.
- Mentor engineers, provide feedback, and support team growth.
- Partner with product, design, founders, clients, and stakeholders to define and ship products.
- Support hiring and interview future teammates.
- Manage multiple projects and maintain delivery ownership across the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience leading project teams and owning delivery end to end.
- Experience mentoring and growing engineers, aligning teams, managing stakeholders, and giving clear feedback.
- Ability to turn vague requests into phased execution plans and make strong architectural and technical decisions.
- Senior-level hands-on engineering experience with Python, such as FastAPI, or TypeScript.
- Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, agentic patterns, and building products with LLMs.
- Fluent written and verbal English is required; clients are US-based.
Nice to have
- Experience partnering closely with product and design and shaping product direction.
- Consulting or client-facing experience integrating systems into enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience navigating customer IT, security review, and change-management processes.
- Curiosity about new AI developments and experience using AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
