Director of Operations

Location: Based in Ottawa, Canada, with full-time office and field-based leadership responsibilities and regular travel to client sites throughout Eastern Ontario.

Salary: CAD 90–110 yearly.

What you will do

• Lead strategic and operational delivery across a portfolio of technical service contracts and customer sites.
• Manage, coach, and develop Area Managers, Account Managers, Supervisors, and technical operations teams.
• Own full P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, cost control, and profitability.
• Build executive-level client relationships and ensure contractual obligations, KPIs, SLAs, compliance, and service expectations are met.
• Drive operational improvements, workforce planning, subcontractor and vendor management, and resource allocation.
• Partner with Business Development on new opportunities, renewals, account growth, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in a technical services environment.
• Experience leading multi-site operations in facilities management, HVAC, mechanical services, building operations, engineering services, industrial maintenance, or similar industries.
• Proven experience managing managers and large technical workforces.
• Demonstrated full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost optimization.
• Strong contract management, executive client relationship, communication, leadership, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work full time in an office and field-based role in Ottawa and travel regularly to client sites throughout Eastern Ontario.

Nice to have

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Facilities Management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in facilities management, commercial real estate, technical services, industrial services, mechanical contracting, HVAC, or building services.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, asset management, technical operations, and service delivery practices.
