Lead Software Reliability Engineer

Salary: $145,000–$175,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead targeted engagements with development teams to improve release cadence and vulnerability resolution.
• Develop comprehensive automated test suites, including local and deployment smoke tests, and integrate appropriate test data with masking in lower environments.
• Modernize Java and NPM runtimes, open-source libraries, dependencies, base images, and operating systems.
• Automate deployments, database changes, and installed software using Liquibase and Ansible.
• Improve source control, branch management, code reviews, security patterns, secrets management, authentication, and authorization.
• Introduce observability, improved exception handling and logging, and resilient hot-hot cross-datacenter deployment architectures.

Requirements

• Several years of Test-Driven Development experience with multiple test frameworks.
• Strong understanding of automation testing approaches and the ability to select and implement the most effective strategy.
• Proficiency in JVM languages and/or TypeScript, with excellent coding skills.
• Strong knowledge of safe deployment architecture, observability, secure coding, and critical-system practices.
• Experience with multiple continuous integration and deployment systems, Docker, OpenShift, Red Hat Linux, Gradle, Maven, and npm.
• Active adoption of AI-assisted coding practices.

Nice to have

• Spring framework experience.
• Ansible experience.
