Compute Country Lead (AI)

Location: Seoul, South Korea; hybrid policy requires staff to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office presence.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end strategy and coordination for Anthropic’s compute build-out in Korea, from site selection through construction and operations.
• Coordinate leasing, financing, energy, government relations, community engagement, construction, and operations workstreams.
• Lead the in-country cross-functional team, drive alignment, and unblock issues without direct line authority.
• Represent Anthropic with Korean government officials, utilities, energy providers, and industry stakeholders.
• Build relationships across government and the energy industry to support site, power, and policy outcomes.
• Track progress, surface risks, and translate global compute priorities into Korea’s regulatory, political, and market context.

Requirements

• Established links into the Korean government and energy industry are strongly preferred; Korean nationality is preferred.
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, or a related sector.
• Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams without direct line authority.
• Strong communication skills and confidence representing the organization to senior government, utility, and industry stakeholders.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in ambiguous situations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Large-scale infrastructure or datacenter development experience.
• Relationships with Korean federal or provincial authorities involved in energy, land use, or industrial development.
• Experience overseeing capital-intensive projects.
• Familiarity with compute, cloud, or datacenter industries.
