Senior Application Support Engineer (Linux, Windows & Automation)

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid model with 3 days per week working from home. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Manage production incidents and restore application availability while minimizing downtime.
• Coordinate technical operations, including disaster recovery, backups, and restore testing.
• Collaborate with development, systems administration, and networking teams on application and infrastructure changes.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health against SLAs and security standards.
• Maintain documentation covering application architecture, operational procedures, and incident resolutions.
• Optimize application capacity, troubleshoot performance issues, and improve operational automation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in application support or related IT roles.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience with Control-M or comparable industrial scheduling tools.
• Proficiency in Shell, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
• Knowledge of databases, backup procedures, networking, LDAP, firewalls, Active Directory, and Kerberos.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union is required. Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
