Principal Software Engineer (Mobile): Building and scaling ServiceTitan's iOS and Android platform with an accent on architecture, performance, reliability, observability, and developer productivity. Focus on modularizing large mobile codebases, designing offline-first systems, improving release automation, and guiding technical strategy across multiple teams.
Location: US Remote
Salary: $263,800–$395,600 USD in Zone 1 and $246,500–$369,700 USD in Zone 2, plus annual bonus and equity.

What you will do
- Own the short- and long-term technical vision and architecture for the mobile platform across iOS and Android.
- Design, build, and improve systems that support mobile security, availability, reliability, performance, and scale.
- Develop shared tools and systems that improve productivity, quality, and engineering efficiency across mobile teams.
- Drive architectural and strategic decisions, contribute to the mobile roadmap, and define metrics for success.
- Mentor engineers, support technical recruiting, and collaborate with engineering, product, customers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience, including large-scale consumer or enterprise mobile applications.
- 10+ years in senior engineering roles designing APIs, abstractions, and tools for other engineers.
- Expertise in native iOS development with Swift, UIKit or SwiftUI, and Xcode, and/or native Android development with Kotlin, Jetpack, and Android Studio; strong working knowledge of the other platform.
- Experience with modularization, offline-first design, dependency injection, clean architecture, mobile performance engineering, observability, testing, debugging, profiling, CI/CD, and release automation.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs and APIs, and working knowledge of Azure, AWS, or similar cloud infrastructure.
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, plus strong communication and technical writing skills.
