Python Developer (US Sports)

Location: London, United Kingdom

Salary: £60,000–£150,000 per year plus a significant bonus.

hirify.global is recruiting for a small quantitative trading firm focused on live US sports markets.

What you will do

• Process live sports, market, and pricing data.
• Build models that estimate probabilities and identify mispriced contracts.
• Design and optimize high-frequency trading systems using Python and Go.
• Analyze strategies in testing and live trading environments.
• Develop tools for managing trading risk, capital, and exposure.
• Investigate new platforms, products, and markets alongside quantitative researchers and trading analysts.

Requirements

• At least one year of commercial Python experience.
• First-class or 2:1 degree from Oxbridge in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience solving complex, real-world technical problems.
• Hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
• Experience or interest in quantitative research, data engineering, or sports markets is relevant to the role.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Interest in functional programming.
• Experience with Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, RabbitMQ, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Linux, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
