Python Backend Developer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Metro Manila, Philippines or Kazakhstan. Core collaboration hours are 12:00 to 19:00 Manila time (UTC+8). Relocation support to Manila includes flights, accommodation, visas, paperwork, and logistics.

What you will do

• Design and build backend services in a reliable microservice and event-driven environment.
• Coordinate architecture and integrations with Core and RBB engineering teams.
• Deliver new service lines such as collections and cross-matching graphs.
• Own existing architecture components and develop new service domains.
• Define service communication patterns, monitoring, alerting, and unit-test coverage.
• Resolve technical debt, improve architecture, and maintain shared libraries and tooling.

Requirements

• 3+ years of production experience as a Python backend developer.
• Strong Python skills, including typing, testing, packaging, asyncio, threading, and multiprocessing.
• Production experience with microservice architecture and event-driven systems such as Kafka.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform; AWS EKS experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of domain-driven design and a statically typed compiled language.
• Experience in finance, antifraud, risk, graph databases, or graph-based data models is valuable.
