Senior Software Engineer: Site Reliability Engineering (GCP)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer: Site Reliability Engineering (GCP): Building and modernizing reliable hybrid-cloud infrastructure across public cloud and co-location environments with an accent on Infrastructure as Code, observability, and SRE principles. Focus on migrating legacy workloads to GCP, automating operations, designing self-healing systems, and improving reliability through SLOs, error budgets, and root cause analysis.

Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California. Occasional travel of up to 5% may be required, along with possible onsite interviews or in-person onboarding. Immigration sponsorship and support are not available.

What you will do

• Improve reliability and performance across public-cloud and internal server infrastructure.
• Implement SRE practices, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, observability, and alerting.
• Automate hybrid-cloud operations with Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Lead the redesign and migration of on-premises services to Google Cloud Platform.
• Drive vulnerability remediation, security automation, compliance, and self-healing systems.
• Lead incident post-mortems and collaborate with DevOps and development teams on reliability improvements.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in cloud and hybrid datacenter operations, Infrastructure as Code, and SRE.
• Proficiency with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, with GCP preferred.
• Hands-on experience with GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Go.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration, networking, firewall, and security knowledge.
• Availability for an on-call rotation approximately every 7–8 weeks.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
• Google Cloud certifications or other relevant industry certifications.
• Experience with ArgoCD, SQL and NoSQL databases, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
