Product Owner (ServiceNow CMDB)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in the office; based in either Somerset, NJ or Austin, TX, USA.

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annual base salary, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.

What you will do

• Own the ServiceNow CMDB product strategy, roadmap, governance framework, and operational processes.
• Gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and align CMDB capabilities with business and operational objectives.
• Improve Configuration Management practices, including CI lifecycle management, relationship mapping, service mapping, data stewardship, and data quality.
• Plan and execute onboarding of applications, infrastructure, cloud resources, business services, and technology assets into the CMDB.
• Drive automated discovery, service mapping, data integrations, and CMDB performance reporting through KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Collaborate with IT Operations, Engineering, Security, Asset Management, Service Management, Architecture, and Application Support teams.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, Configuration Management, Discovery, Service Mapping, the ServiceNow data model, CSDM, CI classes, relationships, and governance.
• At least 5 years of experience in Configuration Management, CMDB or ServiceNow administration, ITSM, ITAM, Product Ownership, or related disciplines.
• At least 3 years supporting, enhancing, or owning enterprise CMDB capabilities, governance initiatives, or ServiceNow platform functionality.
• Experience with enterprise CMDB programs, governance frameworks, data quality programs, operational controls, integrations, automation, and dependency mapping.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent relevant experience; ITIL Foundation certification is required.
• Ability to work three days per week in the Somerset, NJ or Austin, TX office and travel 10%.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Application Developer, or Implementation Specialist certifications.
• Advanced ITIL certification.
• Experience with CSDM implementation, ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB optimization, and enterprise platform maturity initiatives.
