Sr. Chemist (Analytical Chemistry)

Location: Onsite in San Fernando, California, United States. This role does not provide immigration sponsorship or support, including Form I-983 training plan completion for STEM OPT.

Salary: $71,000–$118,000 annual target base pay for candidates in California and the New York metro area. Total rewards may also include an annual performance bonus, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and wellness benefits.

What you will do

• Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental testing for raw materials, bulk products, and finished products.
• Support quality control release, investigations, stability studies, method development, and product development.
• Lead OOS investigations and provide technical support for analytical troubleshooting.
• Conduct method verification, validation, transfer support, and updates to meet compendial requirements.
• Review laboratory documentation and develop procedures, methods, and job aids.
• Master testing areas, train analysts, and collaborate with QA, QC, R&D, Technical Operations, and other sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Three to five years of related laboratory experience.
• Hands-on proficiency with HPLC, GC, ICP, UV, FTIR, dissolution testing, and analytical methods.
• Knowledge of chemistry theory and practice, method validation, FDA and ICH guidelines, and GMP procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, project management, and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency with Word and Excel; familiarity with PLM and LIMS is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, USP, and other compendia.
• Advanced degree in a related scientific field.
