Software Engineer, Payments (Backend): Building and operating backend systems for fiat and stablecoin payment rails, including APIs for deposits, payouts, swaps, and merchant settlement, with an accent on reliability, scalability, and secure financial transactions. Focus on designing microservices, handling growing merchant traffic, and maintaining production systems through monitoring, stress testing, and robust engineering practices.

A fintech and digital-asset payments company building fiat and stablecoin payment infrastructure for crypto exchanges, payment service providers, and fintech platforms.
What you will do
- Build and deliver backend features for fiat and stablecoin payment flows and the Public API.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape requirements and deliver the product roadmap.
- Design scalable, secure systems for financial transactions and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Maintain system availability through monitoring, stress testing, maintenance, and data-driven tradeoffs.
- Support merchant integrations, investigate L2 issues, and collaborate with frontend engineers on service integration.
- Participate in code reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of backend engineering experience with Ruby on Rails, Golang, or a similar language.
- Strong SQL skills and relational database design experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and system design for scale.
- Comfort with CI/CD concepts and Git-based version control.
- Good written and spoken English required.
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership of production systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with financial systems, payments, or fintech infrastructure.
- Familiarity with crypto, stablecoins, or blockchain.
- Experience with Agile delivery.
- Frontend familiarity with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
