Location: 100% remote within the United States, with opportunities for local meet-ups.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000.

What you will do

• Ship complete application features from database migrations and Eloquent models through backend logic and user-facing interfaces.
• Design and maintain performant relational schemas and queries in MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Build clear, reliable, and well-documented RESTful APIs connecting front-end features with trusted data sources.
• Develop and maintain Laravel and modern PHP applications while supporting responsible AI integration.
• Write tested, readable code, participate in code reviews, and improve the existing codebase through thoughtful refactoring.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering colleagues, and an external Laravel partner to turn ideas into shipped features.

Requirements

• Approximately 5+ years of experience building and maintaining real web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Laravel and modern PHP, including Eloquent, migrations, queues, events, and testing tools.
• Experience delivering full-stack features from database design and backend logic to user-facing interfaces.
• Working knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, and slow-query troubleshooting.
• Ability to build and maintain RESTful APIs and front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Blade, Livewire, Vue, or React.
• Clear communication, collaborative problem-solving, and a consistent habit of writing automated tests.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure and CI/CD workflows.
• Comfort with Docker and modern local-to-production development workflows.
• Experience building data-heavy products such as reporting tools, dashboards, or pipelines.
• Healthcare, life sciences, or other data-accuracy-critical domain experience.
• Open-source contributions, writing, speaking, or other engagement with the Laravel community.
