TL;DR
Managing Attorney (Immigration): Leading immigration legal services in Dallas and Abilene with an accent on legal strategy, client representation, team supervision, and program operations. Location: Must reside in Dallas or Abilene, Texas, and travel frequently between offices and throughout the service area.

Salary: $90,000–$92,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead immigration legal services and supervise attorneys, DOJ-accredited representatives, legal assistants, and interns.
  • Set case intake, acceptance, caseload, supervision, and professional development processes.
  • Provide direct representation before USCIS and oversee services for asylum applicants and other immigrants.
  • Manage grant cycles, monitoring and evaluation plans, budgets, reporting, and fundraising support.
  • Maintain legal policies, procedures, case file reviews, data systems, and compliance processes.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, private attorneys, nonprofit providers, funders, and local stakeholders.

Requirements

  • JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited U.S. institution and active membership in good standing of any state bar.
  • At least 5 years of direct immigration representation experience in immigration court and before USCIS.
  • At least 2 years supervising attorneys or DOJ-accredited representatives in a legal services setting.
  • Experience with affirmative USCIS applications, including adjustment of status, naturalization, and I-130 petitions.
  • Experience managing budgets, grants, fundraising, immigration workshops, and community information sessions.
  • Ability to reside in Dallas or Abilene and travel frequently within the service area.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual ability in Spanish, French, Arabic, or another language.
  • Program management experience.
