Senior Databricks Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable Lakehouse solutions on Databricks across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Build modular data pipelines with Delta Lake and implement governance and secure access using Unity Catalog.
• Write maintainable SQL and Python code and develop platform automation through the Databricks CLI and REST APIs.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and deploy Databricks resources using Declarative Automation Bundles.
• Automate data processing with Databricks Workflows or Spark Declarative Pipelines.
• Own technical delivery components, support planning and estimation, collaborate with stakeholders, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on data engineering experience focused on Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, including clean and maintainable code for cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, and at least one major cloud environment: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Declarative Automation Bundles, CI/CD tools, Git, and Databricks Repos.
• Experience with API integration and scripting for platform automation, plus practical use of AI coding tools and agents.
• Native Hungarian and excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt, specifically dbt-databricks.
• Knowledge of Databricks AI/ML and GenAI capabilities, including Mosaic AI, MLflow, Feature Store, or Model Serving.
• Apache Spark knowledge.
