AI Tutor (Malay)

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. US-based candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: US-based candidates: $35–$45 per hour. Compensation details for international candidates are provided during recruitment.

What you will do

• Label, annotate, record, and provide inputs for multilingual audio, voice, speech, and auditory-content projects.
• Translate and localize UI copy, prompts, responses, and other text from English into Malay.
• Curate audio data representing natural pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, accents, and other prosodic features.
• Evaluate speech accuracy, ambiguous or noisy recordings, cultural vocal expressions, and contextual meaning.
• Collaborate with technical staff to improve speech modulation, accent handling, multilingual processing, and annotation tools.

Requirements

• Native Malay proficiency with exposure to diverse accents, dialects, or regional variations.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with clear pronunciation suitable for audio recording.
• Strong auditory perception and the ability to identify speech, pronunciation, intonation, accent, and audio-quality nuances.
• High-accuracy transcription and English–Malay translation/localization skills.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and independent judgment skills.
• For work on a personal device, use a Chromebook, macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.

Nice to have

• Background in linguistics, phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, speech sciences, or cognitive science.
• Experience with speech or audio datasets, annotation workflows, AI training data, or voice models.
• Professional voice work, voice recording, podcasting, or related audio production experience.
• Portfolio with voice samples, annotated transcripts, or other audio-related work.
