Focus on analysing trends and outliers, implementing Fundamental Review of the Trading Book initiatives, and exploring AI applications for more efficient risk processes.

Location: Hybrid work in Amsterdam, Netherlands. During the internship, enrollment at a Dutch university is mandatory, or at an EU university for EU passport holders.

Salary: €700 internship allowance based on a 36-hour work week.

What you will do

• Support daily monitoring, measurement, analysis, and management of market risk in ING’s consolidated trading portfolio.
• Work with Historical Value at Risk, Stressed Value at Risk, Risks Not in Model, and related capital calculations.
• Analyse trends, spikes, and outliers in consolidated market risk figures.
• Contribute to global market risk initiatives and regulatory changes, including the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book.
• Monitor the performance of market risk models and collaborate with risk management, finance, IT, validation, audit, management, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Explore how AI can improve process efficiency and deliverable quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program.
• Strong analytical capabilities and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
• Effective teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Mandatory enrollment at a Dutch university, or at an EU university for EU passport holders, throughout the internship.
