QA & Automation Engineer

TL;DR

QA & Automation Engineer (Python/pytest, Playwright): Building and maintaining automated UI, API, integration, and regression testing for hirify.global’s distributed endpoint management and security platform with an accent on shift-left quality, CI/CD reliability, and broad test coverage. Focus on designing automation frameworks, diagnosing complex environment and resource issues, validating performance and security scenarios, and collaborating with engineering and product teams throughout delivery.

Location: Hybrid in Krakow, Poland, with 3 days per week in the Cracow office on Fabryczna

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated UI, API, integration, and regression test suites using Python/pytest, Playwright, and REST API testing tools.
• Embed automation into engineering squads and maintain reliable CI/CD regression pipelines, including monitoring pipeline health and resolving flaky tests.
• Create and execute functional, regression, integration, performance, and basic security test plans and cases.
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects while providing clear, reproducible bug reports.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product managers through design reviews, sprint planning, code reviews, and feature delivery.
• Maintain QA documentation and share testing practices with the Krakow QA team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of QA engineering experience focused on test automation in a B2B software or SaaS environment.
• Proficiency in Python and pytest, or experience with another programming language.
• Experience with REST API testing and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of test automation principles, the automation pyramid, Page Object Model, Agile/Scrum, and defect management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Playwright or Selenium; familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows installation and configuration.
• Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware, Hyper-V, or UTM.
• Proficiency with shell, Python, or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with packet capture tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump, non-functional testing, OWASP concepts, or ISTQB CTFL certification.
