What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of scalable and secure RESTful APIs using Node.js or Python.
• Architect and refine database schemas and queries across relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) platforms.
• Deploy and maintain applications on Azure and AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize system scalability and reliability while implementing stringent security, authentication, and data protection protocols.
• Integrate AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code into the development workflow.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers on architectural and strategic technical decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backend software engineering focusing on API services.
• Mastery of Node.js or Python and familiarity with frameworks like Express.js or FastAPI.
• Proven experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Azure/AWS, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD in production.
• Must be located in or able to work from Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Nice to have

• Experience in data engineering or machine learning data pipelines.
