What you will do

• Define and evolve the strategy for a major HPC systems engineering area aligned with business goals and customer needs.
• Lead a major organization through managers and senior technical leaders to ensure delivery quality and team health.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and operational maturity of Slurm-based and adjacent HPC services.
• Hire, develop, and retain strong engineering leaders and senior HPC systems engineers.
• Partner with senior engineering, product, and infrastructure stakeholders to align technical strategy with business priorities.
• Manage budget, headcount planning, and organizational investment decisions for the area.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a significant HPC systems, platform engineering, or infrastructure-heavy engineering organization.
• Strong technical credibility in software engineering for HPC systems, distributed infrastructure, and Linux-based platforms.
• Track record of leading through managers and senior technical leaders rather than primarily through individual contribution.
• Deep understanding of GPU infrastructure, HPC scheduler environments (specifically Slurm), and networking constraints.
• Experience owning budget and headcount planning for a meaningful engineering area.
• Must be based in or able to work from Houston, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle.

• Experience with Kueue or other modern batch scheduling technologies.
