Transportation Engineer (Civil Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead and perform roadway design and prepare full PS&E packages, including plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates.
• Develop typical sections, horizontal/vertical alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and traffic control details.
• Ensure design compliance with AASHTO/UDOT standards and local, state, and federal requirements.
• Oversee drainage and stormwater design components within roadway projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget while performing QA/QC reviews of design calculations and plan sheets.
• Mentor junior engineers through task assignment, coaching, and technical checks.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Draper, Utah.
• 4+ years of experience in roadway/transportation design with construction plan set experience.
• BS in Civil Engineering.
• PE license (Utah) or the ability to obtain one within 6–12 months.
• Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.

Nice to have

• UDOT project experience and knowledge of UDOT CADD standards.
• Experience with municipal coordination.
• Familiarity with InRoads/GEOPAK.
• Experience preparing PSE estimates and performing QC reviews.
