Application Security Engineer I (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $90,000-$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Support application security practices, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and penetration testing.
• Participate in vulnerability management and help identify and resolve security incidents.
• Assist with the development, deployment, and automation of security tools, scripts, and processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers on secure application design, security features, and code review.
• Provide guidance on secure coding practices and help integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor emerging security trends, vulnerabilities, and application security tooling.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of security principles, standards, and best practices.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Exposure to SAST, DAST, SCA, and/or vulnerability management platforms.
• Associate's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Ambition to develop in AI Security and Security Engineering.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Pentest+, Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP), or equivalent certification.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments, secure coding, code review, security automation, or scripting.
• Participation in security communities, Capture The Flag events, or open-source projects.
